Faster predictive searchin your Shopify theme

Fulldev Search is a Shopify app that makes your own theme's predictive search faster. The results, the design and your search settings stay Shopify's and your theme's. Your customers see the same answer, only sooner.

What Search does

Shopify's answer, on screen sooner.

  • Searches from the first key

    Search starts Shopify's search request the moment your customer presses a key. For the first search of a visit, results appeared after 67 to 80 ms in our measurement, without Search after 450 to 530 ms.

  • Fetches the next letters ahead

    Search fetches the results for the most likely next letters ahead of time. It picks them from the words in your catalogue, and looks further ahead when only one word still fits.

  • Skips the typing delay

    Themes wait after every key before they search: Horizon 200 ms, Dawn and most other themes 250 to 500 ms. When the answer is ready or on its way, Search skips that delay. Skipping it costs no extra requests.

  • Your search stays Shopify's

    Search does not replace your search. Your results, your design and your Shopify Search & Discovery settings, such as synonyms and boosts, stay as they are. When Shopify asks it to slow down, Search pauses itself.

How it works

You turn Search on once. Your theme stays as it is.

  1. Join the waitlist

    Search is not in the Shopify App Store yet. Through the waitlist you get early access and install the app in your store.

  2. Turn on the app embed

    In the theme editor, turn on Search's app embed. The script is about 2 kB and works with your existing theme.

  3. Your customers search faster

    Search works in the search your theme already has. Your customers type as always and see results sooner.
